At DLG Legal Services, our mission is to make law easy and accessible to everyone. As part of the Direct Line Group, we provide legal services to over 50,000 DLG customers each year.

Customers can access our legal Adviceline team and our growing list of services includes personal injury, employment, property, inheritance, and contract litigation.

We also support our parent group, litigating on their behalf.


The team are taking on more responsibilities which means we now have an exciting opportunity for a
Legal Advisor to join our
Bristol based team, on a
12 Months Fixed Term Contract basis.


The Role:


As a Legal Advisor you will support the Direct Line Group legal expenses insurance claims process, ensuring speed of response and expectation management.

Providing clear, succinct and accurate legal advice to callers.


What you'll be doing:


  • Providing an accurate and clear legal advice while meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Providing a general legal expenses policy guidance where appropriate, handling clients' expectations, explaining decisions and the steps in the claims process clearly and succinctly, and ensuring you treat clients fairly.
  • Dealing with calls efficiently and with dedication in order to contribute to the department meeting agreed service levels.
  • Taking responsibility for learning & self development.
  • Identifying owning and handling the risks involved in running our business in line with the relevant risk framework and in compliance with all our policies and procedures and the SRA Code of Conduct at all times.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Working together with colleagues to build relationships with other departments and suppliers.
  • Supporting the strategic development of the department and firm by developing standard methodology and the client experience through continuous improvement initiatives.

What we are looking for:


  • Great ability to work towards deadlines
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Law degree or a bar professional training course/LPC or a chartered legal executive or to be working towards this.

Home Working:
Hybrid model (2 days in the office, 3 days at home)


Hours: 35 Hours (Monday - Friday shift patterns varied between 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm and 10am-6pm)
