Job Title:
Finance and Payroll Assistant


Salary:
Up to £29,000 per annum


Location:
Newcastle

Our client, and inspiring and people-first organisation, is looking for a Finance and Payroll Assistant on a permanent basis.


Key Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while providing broader support in financial activities


Key responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently manage endtoend payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Handle payroll queries and discrepancies promptly and professionally.
  • Stay updated on payroll legislation and implement changes accordingly.
  • Assist in credit control activities, maintaining healthy customer relationships and minimizing outstanding debts.
  • Contribute to the purchase ledger function by processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the finance team on monthend and yearend closing processes.

Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience in an accounts and payroll position.
  • Solid understanding of payroll systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of pension administration.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with team members and external stakeholders.

Salary:
£27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Newcastle upon Tyne: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
