    About the Role

    You will serve as the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring prompt resolution and appropriate escalation to 3rd party IT providers.

    Day-to-day duties include assisting with the stability of the company's computer systems and electronic data, maintaining and supporting the implementation of customised systems, and overseeing all computer-related activities.

    • Create and manage users, ensuring secure and appropriate permissions are given to new starters and existing users or revoked for leavers.
    • Set up workstations for new starters (monitors, cables, keyboard, and other IT equipment).
    • Register warranties for new devices, manage hardware maintenance and replacements.
    • Support the updating of the current reporting environment.
    • Install, configure, test, and update computer software, hardware, operating systems, and applications for both Windows and Mac OS.
    • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues for urgent requests that cannot wait for 3rd party support.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining IT documentation, such as the IT Asset register, Inventory, IT Handbook, and Knowledge Base.

    Essential Skills/Experience:

    • IT qualification, ideally at NVQ Level 3 or higher.
    • Genuine interest in IT and technology.
    • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
    • Ability to conduct research into PC and operating system issues.
    • Passion for technology, can-do attitude, and strong desire to learn.
    • Excellent logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, and Mac OS operating systems.
    • Great communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Desirable Skills/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economics, or other relevant fields.
    • Previous IT experience as desktop support or technical support is advantageous.
    • Experience in SQL, Tableau, BigQuery, or other data visualisation tools is a plus.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Proficient in SQL reporting writing.
