An exciting opportunity for a maintenance assistant with a mechanical bias to join our newly created bank team on a ad hoc basis and willingness to develop within a vibrant and progressive Estates maintenance service.


The estates management team aims to provide an excellent support service to the Trust's assets, its patients, staff and visitors.


Primary role - water quality sampling, cleaning and disinfection of water services, flushing H&CW outlets, un-blocking WC's minor plumbing repairs, maintenance of water softeners, chlorine dioxide plant and thermostatic mixing valves.


You will be part of a modernising team carrying out a range of minor engineering works across all core mechanical engineering skills.


The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic understanding of all modern general maintenance activities, a willingness to learn, be a dedicated team player and have a proven track record and being qualified to NVQ level 2 or equivalent standards.

Good communication and basic IT skills are key elements to the post, being confident liaising with staff at all levels throughout the Trust

Carries out maintenance, inspection, reactive repairs, fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment including physical assets:

Taking and recording samples across a range of equipment and plant, cleaning and disinfection of water services, flushing H&CW outlets, un-blocking wc's, minor plumbing repairs, maintenance of water softeners, chlorine dioxide plant and Thermostatic mixing valves.


Plant and equipment includes:
, Water tanks, hot and cold water services, drainage systems, pumps, Heating & Ventilation systems, Hydro-pool plant, fire protection equipment, fuel distribution systems, machinery etc and other crafts within personal capabilities.

To work mostly under own initiative with minimum of supervision on such tasks as deemed suitable by Management.

Complies with operational, technical, trust and health and safety standards and procedures.

Use all relevant tools, machinery and communications equipment as required.
