We're seeking a future team member for the role of
Specialist Business Analyst to join our OPTISM ( Operations, Payments, Treasury, Issuer Services, Markets) t eam.

This role is located in
Manchester, UK with a
hybrid work model .


In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Analyses, defines, and prioritizes business requirements and functional or operational specifications for moderate to large projects of increasing complexity.
  • Elicits, challenges, and prioritizes business requirements; translates into functional design and use case documents. Develops project scope, objectives, constraints, and assumptions.
  • Participates in and provides guidance on development of the functional design and user documentation
  • Consults internal business groups on requirements, functional architecture, and implementation.
  • Gathers and analyses information to assist in the development of recommendations to address business objectives that span multiple business and technology areas.
  • Responsible for owning and escalating as appropriate risks, issues, and dependencies at Squad level
  • Support Product Owner(s) with Squad backlog management
  • Uses general knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements and BNY Mellon corporate policies involving risk and control to support the development of improved business processes through technology.
  • No direct reports, provides guidance to less experienced colleagues. Leads projects and allocates work accordingly.
  • Contributes to the achievement of Squad and Tribe objectives

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 57 years of total work experience preferred. Technical experience preferred.
  • Knowledge on Payments domain viz Global Clearing channels, SWIFT Message types i.e., MTXXX and MX or ISO20022, Electronic payment workflows etc. Is desired
  • Knowledge of the software development process (can be through scrum/ lean agile or standard SDLC).
  • Knowledge and experience of project execution
  • BCS certificate / Lean Six Sigma or similar qualification desired
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Proven decisionmaking ability
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced environment
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of tools such as: Jira, Confluence etc
