Description

We are a family run fruit, veg and dry goods wholesaler based in Melksham looking for a part time delivery driver to join our team.

This position is three shifts a week from Monday to Saturday. Saturday availability is essential. Delivery routes have start times varying between 6am - 8am and finishing times will vary with operational demand.


As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for transporting products to multiple customers within roughly a 90 minute radius of our premises in Melksham.

You must hold a full clean driving licence. The role involves manual handling, so you must be comfortable lifting and moving loads.

£11.45 an hour.


Job Duties:

  • Deliver orders to customers at commercial locations in a timely manner
  • Follow delivery schedules on routes provided
  • Communicate effectively with onsite office staff, warehouse staff and customers
  • Perform pretrip and posttrip vehicle inspections
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Monitor temperatures and record accurately
  • Making sure the products are kept in good condition
  • Complete the necessary paperwork correctly
  • Take second deliveries to customers when required
  • Collect stock orders for the Company when required

Requirements:


  • Valid manual driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to navigate using GPS
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Experience driving vans preferred.
