Information & Technology Services (iTECS) is a Division within Scottish Government and part of Digital Directorate. It is headed by the Deputy Director for Technology Services.


This post sits within a new Digital Operations team and reflects a change in iTECS responsibilities to provide technical and operational support to an expanding list of digital platforms and services, including the migration of the SG's current HR and Finance systems to the Oracle Cloud/Fusion Platform.


This role leads on all aspects of managing the implementation, configuration, management and monitoring of integrations across our IT 'estate' including the new Oracle Cloud platform and other digital platforms as directed.


Owning how integrations are developed, configured, tested, provisioned, documented, decommissioned and maintained in line with relevant SG standards and policies will be key for this role.

HOW WILL I SPEND MY TIME?
You will line manage a new integrations team as additional systems and related integrations are onboarded.

You will be responsible for effective resourcing for integrations, the personal development of those individuals and contribute to the strategy of the support operating models for the future, aiming to provide an exemplar of the integrations management capability.


With existing digital Integration skills, you will likely to be, or quickly become, someone with deep Oracle Cloud Infrastructure knowledge and will need to understand the end-to-end architecture, all the integrations in scope, their purpose and their issues.

To do this will entail working closely with DG Corporate Hub, iTECS service teams, system owners and 3rd party suppliers.

Whilst Oracle Cloud will play a large part in this role, the post holder will be expected to develop their skills across yet further IT platforms.


Key responsibilities include:
-


  • Act as the authoritative voice on the strategic management, delivery and maintenance of integrations managed by the SG as defined in the integrations catalogue, coordinating and advising on best practice as necessary.
  • Review existing build pipelines, and make recommendations to improve code reuse, increase performance, tighten security, and optimise deployment performance.
  • Define and implement strategies and technology that ensures the seamless integration of data
  • Lead on and manage provision of technical support and resolution for all digital integration incidents, problems and changes.
  • Work closely with the Technical Delivery Manager and other specialists such as developers, engineers and programmers to ensure successful integration outcomes.
  • Represent iTECS on in various fora and boards as necessary, supporting and substituting for iTECS Senior Leadership Team and Leads.

After a successful year you will have played your part in the successful launch of our new Oracle Cloud platform ensuring the smooth running of all technical integrations.

You will have brought your expertise across our many technical platforms and made recommendations and improvements to how we securely transfer information in the most optimal way, maximising value for money for the public purse.
