Activities Organiser**
RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager**
Company Main Responsibilities

  • To promote at all time the good reputation of the home whilst maintaining confidentiality as per company policies.
  • Observe the Homes Health and Safety Policy at all times and to wear appropriate protective equipment as required. Staff must report any faults/damages to any equipment to the nurse in charge. Carry out duties with regard to the Home Fire Regulations, attend and implement mandatory training sessions when requested.
  • Carry out duties with regard to the Home infection control policies. Attend and implement mandatory training sessions on a regular basis. Staff will follow and implement the Essential Steps to safe, clean care.
  • All staff to know how to activate emergency call systems and to respond to an emergency calls immediately.
  • To be reliable in attending rotaed shifts and if unable to attend you must provide the home with adequate notice and keep them regularly informed of your current status. Complete accurate timesheets. Also to inform the company of any changes of personal details, e.g. name changes, telephone numbers etc.
  • Take part in staff and resident meetings when required.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide, organise, co-ordinate individual and group activities and outings for the residents.**
Main Responsibilities

  • Devise and implement a programme of activities for the residents with special attention to the restrictions and limitations of each individual the programme should include both individual and group activities.
  • Ensure that social history and activity analysis' are completed for each new resident. Develop past hobbies and interests and try to encourage new areas of personal fulfilment.
  • Consult with the Nursing staff prior to activities to assess residents capabilities, needs and any risks due to nursing problems. (E.g. Insulin controlled diabetics, epileptics, P.E.G fed residents).
  • Organise and circulate a monthly programme of activities/newsletter to publicise forthcoming events to residents, relatives, and staff.
  • Make necessary bookings of coaches, entertainment's, crafts, and liaise with all individuals who will be concerned e.g. Kitchen, carers, Relatives and Outside bodies. Ensure that each trip is organised with adequate extra staff, including a first aider/trained nurse at all times and any equipment under the supervision of Matron/Manager.
  • Assist in promoting the dignity, rights and independence of residents by letting residents choose what they wish to join in doing through general conversations and arranging regular meetings.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living e.g. assisting with diet etc, escorting around the home, participate on all trips and activities.
  • Organise and plan fetes/monthly raffles for raising money for the residents fund.
  • Help residents to fulfil their spiritual requirements through organising services in house and maintaining relations with local spiritual organisations.
  • Maintaining participation records for individual & group activities.

Temporary contract

Contract length: 3 months

£10.70 per hour
