    The Role

    The sustainability manager is responsible for providing the project with specialist support in relation to carbon reduction targets specified for the project.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Developing and maintaining a carbon management plan for the project in accordance with requirements specified in HS2-HS2-SU-STD-000-000004 (technical standard - carbon management).
    • Working collaboratively with the design team to update the life cycle assessment (LCA) at each key project gateway stage and ensure a final 'as-built' LCA shall be conducted at the end of construction.
    • Attending site and project team meetings to ensure construction and installations are in line with the carbon savings and specifications in the design.
    • Supporting the project level understanding of any relevant environmental requirements and develop mitigations that will inhibit any impacts on the construction programme.
    • Driving the carbon agenda throughout the design and construction phase by leading the carbon working group to action carbon opportunities and identify new opportunities for further reductions.
    • Providing regular and ad-hoc reports on sustainability issues, meeting minutes and presentation material as required.
    • Periodically updating the sustainability processes in the project Integrated Management System with MDJV Euston team.
    • Developing and maintaining the sustainability key risks and issues log to be used to report to senior leadership.
    • Professional membership of an appropriate environmental body (e.g. MIEMA)
    • Appropriate CSCS card type and level.
