Job overview:


We are looking to recruit a highly motivated clinical fellow to join our growing team within Haematology Service at Royal Oldham Hospital.

This is a new and exciting role within the Oldham Care Organisation.

Your clinical base will be in our busy, fast paced Haematology unit providing both acute inpatient and specialty outpatient care, including a purpose built Haematology Day Case assessment unit.

We are proud of our services you will gain a vast experience in all areas of general Haematology services, alongside specialised services based here at the Oldham site, such as oncology.


Main duties of the job:


You will be an integral part of the team working alongside an experienced team of Consultants and junior medical staff, which includes registrar supervision on ward F11.

The post will be predominantly inpatient based however there may be some opportunity for out-patient clinic work if desired and also opportunities to support the Haematology day case unit.

The post offers an opportunity to develop your clinical skills within a specific clinical specialty.

It will also include the opportunity to attend regular grand round, x-ray and M & M meetings as well as provide the opportunity to gain experience in service development and quality improvement.


The Haematology service is on an improvement journey and has recently implemented a range of service improvements to benefit our patients, carers and staff.

Qualifications:


Essential criteria:


  • Primary medical qualification (eg. MBChB, MBBS)
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid Licence to Practise with the General Medical Council

Desirable criteria:


  • Completion of post graduate qualification e.g. MRCS Part 1

Knowledge:


Essential criteria:


  • Proven ability to take clinical history & undertake examination
  • Knowledge of the workings of the NHS
  • Use of evidence based practice
  • Participation in audit

Desirable criteria:


  • Research Experience
