Payroll Officer

£20-22 per hour umbrella

*Hybrid Working*Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Berkshire for a Payroll Officer.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the timely and accurate payment of wages, salaries and expenses fees to Authority Employees
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a confidential manner, within the required timescales in line with PAYE legislation and HMRC rules.
  • Input new starters/contractors, process leaver forms, deal with all types of payments and will resolve pension queries.
  • Keep accurate records relating to Tax, National Insurance, SSP, SMP and Pensions Contributions for individual employees.

  • CIPP Qualification or Equivalent preferred
  • Experience within a Local Authority payroll background
  • Great communication skills with ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Experience in payments, starters/leavers and pensions
  • Experience of Agresso Payroll is highly desirable
