Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to complement our Employee Relations Team.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Employee Relations Adviser on a Successful applicants will be expected to manage a varied complex caseload including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievances, workforce investigations, appeals and cases.

They will also support our stakeholders at various stages throughout the employee relations process, including at formal case hearings and case management.


Reporting into the Head of Human Resources, as part of the HR team you will be responsible for providing a pro-active and efficient ER service, supporting the on-site Managers and key stakeholders.


This role is hybrid and requires a 60% (3 days per week) onsite with some flexibility.

Fixed Term Contract for 9 months.

What you will be doing:


  • Quickly and effectively establishing positive working relationships with HR colleagues in the wider team and demonstrating an understanding of the Jewish Care Strategic Vision and Values
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to build relationships on site and provide professional advice with internal and external stakeholders to deliver an effective HR service to the organisation
  • Able to advise managers on our HR policies and procedures with a pragmatic solutionbased approach but always within the guidance of Employment Law regulations
  • Gaining credibility to become a go to critical friend for managers when dealing with change and culture shift
  • Provide advice on any proposed reorganisation structures and help deliver, mitigating risk
  • Provide advice on any redundancy process to avoid unfair practice
  • Provide advice and support to managers on all aspects of employee relations including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues,
  • Being responsible for efficient outcomes to close ER cases within a specified time frame
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions

What you will need:


  • CIPD qualified level
  • Experience of ET1 and ET3 Tribunal processes, including the preparation of organised and chronological bundles.
  • Experience of working within a multisite, unionised environment
  • Experience of managing a varied complex caseload including sickness absence, disciplinary, grievances, workforce investigations, appeals and cases.
  • Knowledge of wide breath of issues including redundancy, consultations, gross misconduct, safeguarding, dismissals.
  • Ability to touch type at speed and be proficient in all Microsoft packages including Excel.
