Objective:

To work as a member of Estate Security Team. For the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • The protection of a client's property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste through the use of proactive CCTV monitoring.
  • Manage the desk top based Fire alarm system and respond to alerts/faults as necessary.
  • To undertake operation of all equipment and cameras within the CCTV Control Room.
  • To assist with remote access control across the estate and car parks when required
  • Manage the issuing and return of security equipment to Estate Security staff (Keys, radios, bodycams, patrol devices)
  • To monitor internal and external cameras across the SKD estate.
  • Direct and monitor estate security staff to tasks/incidents.
  • Direct Estate security staff to breaks & cover positions.
  • The protection of private property belonging to the client, their staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage through the use of proactive CCTV monitoring.
  • Prevent offences against the law of the land, UniTrust disciplinary codes and policies and ensure all are brought to the attention of the management.
  • Providing full reports on all maintenance and security related issues, following up and closing these off.
  • Issue keys/passes to authorised persons as required keeping an accurate record on both electronic and paperbased systems.
  • Assist DSM in quarterly key audit.
  • Respond to all communications via phone and radio in a clear and courteous manner.
  • Manage the Access Control System. Produce access cards for new tenants / Service providers, ensuring correct access levels are applied accordingly. Deleting / archive any leavers.
  • Day to day management of all Contractors working on site. Reporting any contractor issues to the onsite FM / Duty Supervisor.
  • Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times by security personnel
  • Forward any required security documentation to the Security Manager / FM Manager
  • Review Control Room/Security procedures and develop these under the guidance of the Site Security Manager
  • To comply with company health and safety procedures
  • Maintain a high standard of communication and good working relationship with all other clients, staff, visitors and contractors
  • To ensure a meaningful Shift Handover is done in full with all checks done and messages included.
  • Assist with any Investigations of thefts, complaints and incidents as required using CCTV where necessary.
  • Complete accurate and legible reports at all times as required (Incident/accident/Found property)
  • To keep security records, compliance checks and Control Room occurrence logs up to date
  • To manage the Control Room response to and during any building evacuation / major incident, supporting the estate Duty Security Manager / Estate Security team.
  • Follow call out procedures in the event of a crisis situation arising.
  • To complete training when necessary and comply with regulations of licenses.
  • To keep the Control Room in a safe, clean, and tidy condition
  • Have the ability to cover Duty Shift Manager role in the event of leave/sickness etc.

Person Specification:


  • Preferably have at least 2 years plus previous experience in a similar role, working with Blue Chip tenants.
  • Must be able to cope with high pressure situations and demonstrate previous supervisor experience.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance is critical.
  • SIA licenced (specifically CCTV in a Public space) and good working knowledge of Data Protection (GDPR), Human Rights act and surveillance regulations is essential
  • Must hold a valid
    Door Supervision / Close Protection SIA licence
  • Valid First Aid at Work certificate
  • Be capable of using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional CCTV Control Room operative/Security Officer.
