Description

Company description
Playball are the leading foundation phase sport specialists that teach children aged 2-10 years in age specific classes. We are looking for a sporty, dynamic and hard working coach (no previous coaching experience required).

Job description

This job will entail the following:

  • Teaching children life skills through sport with sports including tennis, hockey, football, rugby, basketball and many more.
  • Building children's resilience and confidence with our progressive Playball curriculum.
  • Going into schools to teach the Playball curriculum.
  • Writing reports for each of the children you coach.
  • Engaging with parents and providing feedback at the end of each session.
  • DBS certificate if you don't have one we can arrange this through Playball.
  • A driving licence and own a car, this will be for when you are running classes at different venue.

Where is the job based?

As a Playball coach you will be needed at different venues across Lightwater, Bagshot, Camberley and Sandhurst from schools to leisure centres and parks.

What hours would I be working?
Normal hours are +/- 25 a week, however we can be flexible to suit your needs.

A new coach might start on slightly fewer hours per week but would hopefully build quickly to 20-30 hours.

While you are starting out we can offer parties almost every other weekend to supplement your wage when in the training stage.

What would we offer you?

  • Competitive salary

The starting rate whilst training at Playball is £10 per hour until you are ready to run your own classes, whereby your rate will increase to £15.

As soon as you become more experienced there is the possibility of earning up to £25 per hour.

We will provide you with full training, uniform and all equipment.

Head office requires that you attend compulsory workshops 3 times a year, typically run on a Saturday (dates provided well in advance).

  • Bonuses

We award bonuses to the coaches who have performed consistently well throughout the term, educated parents on our programme and built up good relationships with the clients and not missed any lessons or had sick days.

Coaches who have actively helped to build their classes by handing out flyers/vouchers to parents, schools and nurseries and who are on top of all admin responsibilities can earn an additional bonus of up to £300 per term.

  • Term time working and school holidays off (if desired)
Playball operates on a termly basis, with 3 terms a year. Our term time runs according to the school year. January-March, April-July and September

  • December. Please note that coaches are not permitted to take holidays during term time.
  • Holiday camps and birthday parties for additional money

During the half terms and holiday seasons we run holiday camps, which are usually from 9am-1pm or 2pm - 5pm and pay coaches £75.

Similarly, we also run children's birthday parties, usually on a Saturday or Sunday which is a great way for the coaches to make extra money.

The rate of pay for a 2 hour birthday party is £75 to run or £50 to assist.
