What you'll be doing
As the
Construction & Integration Manager, you'll direct a team of circa.

30 Construction Assurance and Asset Integration Engineers for both water and wastewater infrastructure (network) schemes alongside overseeing the performance of 7 majorcontractors to ensure that the projects delivered are to Thames Water's high standards with regard to health and safety, time, quality, and cost.

You'll set the strategic vision for the team and encourage collaboration throughout the delivery process.

You'll be accountable for health, safety & environmental requirements, being the key support and driver for embedding a culture of safety for the widerteam.

Giving focus on developing the function and team, you'll drive continuous improvement and take a methodical and consistent approach, ensuring the team is empowered to deliver.


Day-to-day responsibilities include:


  • Overseeing contractor performance to ensure they are delivering the required assets to the time, quality, and cost expected, whilst maintaining excellent customer focus
  • Point of escalation and owner of accountabilities within the stagegate process
  • Enabling the team to set and adhere to best practices for their roles, ensuring both their processes as well as the stagegate processes are cohesive, complementary, and adhered to creating an environment where ways of working can be constructively challenged
  • Maintaining excellent stakeholder engagement and ensuring the operating model is optimal
  • Working with contractors to ensure delivery partner teams and structures complement our own to ensure efficient implementation of the intelligent client model through construction and integration

We're looking for you to:


  • Be aChartered Engineer or have substantial experience in a similar role
  • Have a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or similar
  • Provide management, leadership, and development of people in a culture of accountability and achievement
  • Be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of working processes used in water/wastewater/networks
  • Understand the development of design, construction, and operation of infrastructure and noninfrastructure projects
  • A strong understanding of performance and quality management and delivery of Forms of Contract
  • Have considerable experience in the commissioning and takeover practices in the water/wastewater industries
  • Demonstrate experience as a problem solver on both wastewater and potable water
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with our stakeholders and customers

As part of your role, you'll be required to participate in a rota to provideCustomer Incident Support, as requested by the Company from time to time.

This may be by supporting our customers on the frontline as an Ambassador or being part of the team managing the incident as a Control Tower Lead.
