Are you looking to make a difference supporting children in your community?An exciting opportunity has become available in an OFSTED rated "Good" Primary school in Huddersfield.
They are seeking to employ a Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a student in Year 6 to mentor the pupil and allow them to access learning in different ways.
Behaviour Mentor Job Description:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting and mentoring students challenging behaviour on a one-to-one basis.
You will work closely with school staff and parents, implementing effective strategies to address behavioural challenges and promote positive outcomes.
Behaviour Mentor Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support and mentorship to one Year 6 pupil with challenging behaviour, helping them to overcome barriers and develop coping mechanisms.
- Facilitate group sessions aimed at promoting social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create personalised behaviour intervention plans.
- Monitor student progress, identifying areas of improvement and reporting on achievements to relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and observations, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment, promoting inclusivity and diversity.
- Encourage students to engage in constructive activities, developing their interests and talents.
Behaviour Mentor Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with students with challenging behaviour, preferably in an educational setting but experience with sports coaching or youth work is also a great starting point.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Understanding of behavioural management techniques and evidencebased intervention strategies.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with different age groups and varying levels of need.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A commitment to promoting the wellbeing and progress of every student you support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or training will be advantageous).
Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm
Salary:
£85.00-£95.00 per day
