About the Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a General Operative (UK) at Surface Technology, based in Leeds, UK with occasional travel to other sites.

Tasks

What will you do?

The General Operative will report to the Production Manager and where the objective is the production of customer components to recognised Surface Technology standards, ensuring that all workmanship is completed to a high standard of quality and completed in a timely manner in line with customer expectations.

To ensure efficiency and quality are maintained when spraying customer components
To have an understanding of customer requirements, in respect of marked up drawings
To ensure a timely manufacture, despatch and delivery of products to customers, while ensuring internal Process Control sheets are followed, understood and completed
To ensure all Process Control Sheets are completed and signed
To ensure all customer directions are followed, from Drawings or DBI's.
To ensure that the quality system is adhered to in order to maintain ISO900
To enable the process of products to meet production scheduling
To maintain and comply with the company Health and Safety Policy, including the control of hazardous substances
To ensure all Environmental aspects of your process adhere to the company ISO 14001 Environmental accreditation
To ensure all Environmental aspects of your process adhere to the company OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety accreditation
To maintain confidentiality at all times within the area of your responsibility
To comply with Company policies and procedures
Any other duties that you may be called upon to perform by the Management

Requirements:

What do we look for?

Qualifications / Experience

Desirable

ICATS accreditation or similar industry recognition an advantage.

Essential

Ability to follow written instructions and keep records
Ability to complete internal Process Control Sheets
To be able to understand customer requirements in respect of marked up drawings
Proven experience in spray coatings

Competencies

Excellent attention to detail
A safety conscious approach to work
The ability to work in a team and individually
Excellent hand to eye coordination
Awareness of Health and Safety, including the control of substances hazardous to health
