About us

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Birmingham City Council's Housing Management service and provide a real difference for the tenants of this city.

We currently have one vacancy on the Think Family (TF) team as a GR3 Neighbourhood Officer. This is a vital role within this service as it is providing a first point of contact.

This is a city-wide service.

The Think Family team is a small team of Family Workers. The team are moving into a new phase of Think Family, updating our Early Help offer. We also have an advisory presence at their Early Help Conversation meetings and Housing surgeries.

You will be line managed by the Housing Manager.

**The role
**Key Requirements

  • To support TF Manager with reporting and monitoring of cases and collating data for reporting purposes and audits.
  • To support TF Family Workers with adding cases to Northgate at point of referral and contacting the customer to gain consent.
  • To keep record of and monitor training needs of the TF Family workers.
  • Responsible for responding to the requests for information relating to Housing from TF Family Workers and Early Help Officers from Birmingham Children's Trust. These are likely to be systems checks on Abritas, Northgate, ECINS.
  • To support TF Manager with admin/HR tasks such as uploading documents onto personnel files, doing SLAMs and running BO reports and minute taking at team meetings.
  • Systems checks for serious case reviews and other external partners needing housing information.
  • Holding a small number of lowlevel Early Help cases.
  • To support TF Family Workers with the booking system for the Housing Surgeries and cover them, if needed.
  • To complete the weekly tracker for the Early Help TAFN meetings, for each locality.

The role requires the building of effective and trusting relationships with colleagues across the organisation as well as outside agencies.

It is important that you are able to manage different enquiries on a daily basis and are able to problem solve effectively in order to deal with any enquiries.

There is an element of investigation and signposting with this role, including referrals to third parties.

It is preferred to have experience of Housing and the relevant legislation, however training on all policies and procedures will be provided, as well as training on systems.

You will need to be well organised and competent at scouring systems and collating data.

Will be working within GDPR with highly confidential personal information and therefore require working knowledge of safeguarding practices.

Can prioritise cases and be ready to respond in a timely manner.

Closing date 6 December at 23.59
