We know we need an amazing team to help us achieve our ambitious goals, so we are committed to being a great place to work.

By joining us at this early stage the opportunities for progression, growth and career development are great. The potential here at Upp is huge.

We believe that Positivity is a magic ingredient. We assume positive intent; we enjoy our work and we have fun together. And we also believe in Winning together - we thrive on teamwork and win or lose, we keep learning.

Does this sound like the kind of place you want to work? If so, keep reading.

About the role
As POP Planner you will be responsible for capturing external network and customer requirements including site visits, designing robust supportable and fit for purpose solutions to achieve the brief of customer needs or project requirements as well as delivery of civils and cable works through supervision and management of internal and external stakeholders (e.g. local authorities, other utilities, customer and other internal/external groups).

Key Requirements

Desktop evaluation:

You will be responsible for assessing suggested locations for their suitability as POP locations, reviewing and estimating cost to enable access to existing network.

Your knowledge will be used to highlight any issues that could cause difficulties during the planning and build phases.

Field assessments:

Once you have assessed a site as being suitable, the next step would be to visit the location and produce a plan for any network interconnect civils, including trench lines and chamber locations.

You will also be expected to meet with third parties to determine any meet-me connectivity requirements including fibre routes and any duct or chamber builds.

Documentation:

Once you have evaluated a location and determined any requirements you will be expected to design the solution within our GIS planning system, you will be fully trained and supported to enable you to do this.

You will also be required to design the ODF layout and fibre connectivity between the POP site and the external network, again you will be fully trained in our tools and processes.

At UPP your voice counts so your input is vital as we believe that the best person to improve our ways of working is to be listen to the people who know, and that will be you
