Property Management Officer - Luton, United Kingdom - The Big Help Project
Description
Due to the continued growth of our portfolio of private and student properties, Big Help Homes are looking to recruit an experienced Property Management Officer to join their busy and thriving team over London and Home Counties.
The successful Property Management Officer will be expected to:- Deal with the resolution of all property maintenance issues.
- Liaise with landlords and negotiate with contractors for works to be carried out on properties.
- Liaise with front of office staff to ensure a smooth check in/out process.
- Arrange and carry out property inspections including reporting findings to the landlord and arranging remedial works and/or follow up visits if required.
- Oversee all tenancy renewals and secure renewal fees from landlords and tenants.
- Attending properties to liaise with tenants and landlords to deal with maintenance issues.
- Liaise with contractors and tradesmen.
- Chase and obtain all late rents.
- General administration, including typing, filing, post and ordering stationary.
- Liaising with tenants and guarantors to ensure the signing of all relevant tenancy agreements.
Main objectives
- Contribute to a program of effective inspections and checkouts
- Deal with deposit repayments/disputes
- Handle all communications from tenants, landlords and contractors
Person Specification
- Current full driving license and use of own vehicle (travel expenses are reimbursed in line with our Expenses Policy)
- Knowledge of housing regulations and law
- An understanding of the issues facing poverty and disadvantage
- Knowledge of the local area
- Ability to multitask and prioritise objectives
- Selfmotivated and happy to work independently when required.
Experience
- Current/Previous experience as a Property Management Officer
- Experience working with diverse social groups
- Experience and knowledge of industry type software
- Experience of working in a supportive administrative role
- Working with individuals facing poverty and/or with dysfunctional and chaotic lifestyles.
- Qualification in business administration, management, or a similar field
