Job Summary:

We're on the lookout for motivated team members to join our current Acute Medicine Consultants team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Our current Consultants team specializes in Respiratory, Diabetes, Renal, and Intensive Care.

Our department comprises an Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Short Stay ward, Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC), and Ward 517 for short-stay patients. There are teaching opportunities available in our simulation suite and clinical skills area, with encouragement for exploring other special interests.

Clinical Care

  • Directing team activities during clinical sessions and providing support to fellow clinical practitioners.
  • Supervising junior doctors, ACPs, and clinical practitioners.
  • Handling administrative duties related to patient care.
  • Contributing to medical education activities, including supporting AHPs as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Actively participating in departmental and directorate meetings.
  • Encouraging and assisting Consultants with research projects.
  • Providing cover for Consultant colleagues during scheduled leaves as per Trust policy.
