GBR Recruitment have a great opportunity for a
Financial Accountant working for our major Engineering client based close to Yeovil & Taunton in the South West of the UK.


In this key Finance / Accounts role, you will be able to provide effective accountancy services, plus high-quality financial information.


You will be AAT 3 qualified (or equivalent or higher) with experience in producing management accounts, financial reporting & overseeing a small accounts department employing several FTE's.


You will have experience of using Sage 50 accounts, Sage 50 Payroll, Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel inc. Formulas, Pivot Tables etc.) along with strong attention to detail.


Duties:

You will provide effective accountancy & financial services to the business / Group
:


  • Undertaking annual processes, including inputting forecasts for the coming year, yearend processes for the previous year, and preparing for the annual audit.
  • Monthly processes, inc. management accounts, journals and reconciling balance sheets.
  • Overseeing production and submission of monthly VAT returns, including margin schemes, and liaising with outside accountants to calculate margin percentages for the following year.
  • Completing quarterly foreign VAT returns.
  • Managing PL and AP inc. maintaining supplier records, checking, and approving invoices and credit notes with POs and delivery notes, reconciling supplier charges and statements, and paying invoices.
  • Managing sales ledger and accounts receivable, including maintaining customer records, raising sales orders and invoices/credit notes, and processing receipts (BACS and cheque)
  • Managing debt management processes, including providing information internally, issuing sales ledger statements and overseeing our debtor control processes to pursue overdue debts.
  • Manage nominal ledgers, inc. income, expenditure, assets, producing balance sheets and P&L reports.
  • Manage cash / cashbooks, inc. monitoring / reconciling bank accounts, petty cash, and credit cards.

Attributes:


  • Experience in a Financial Accountancy role, ideally using Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Experience in preparation of monthly management accounts, year end and financial reporting.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables etc. is ideal).
  • AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified or QBE or part qualified will be considered.
  • Able to multiple task
