An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5, Payroll Team Leader to join our Shared Services team based in Darwen, Lancashire.


Your main duties will include being responsible for a dedicated payroll team and planning and organising the workload to pre-agreed deadlines.


You should have significant knowledge of ESR and be able to use all aspects of the payroll related ESR URP's including Payroll, HR, Absence and Vehicle repository.


An understanding of PAYE, NIC and RTI legislation would be expected, alongside knowledge of statutory payments including maternity, adoption, paternity and sickness.


Knowledge of NHS pension would be an advantage as you will provide an advisory service on pension issues and auto enrolment to customers.

This also includes the maintenance of online records.
