Location - Flint


Are you an experienced Health and Safety Officer long for a new challenge? Do you have a strong background in health and safety, compliance, risk assessments and COSH assessments? If so, Flogas Britain, one of the largest distributors of off-grid energy in the UK, is seeking a talented individual like you to join our Fleet Maintenance team.


About the Role:

Based in either Flint or Cannock, with some travel to other Flogas Medical Gases (FMG) sites.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a willingness to develop their H&S skill set in an interesting and diverse environment.

As the H&S Supervisor your main purpose is to assist the Facilities Manager to implement an effective, safe, efficient Health & Safety management system for safe operations within the FMG business.

Completing all tasks as directed to the highest of standards and within deadlines, monitoring and guiding staff members on H&S matters.

Responsibilities:


  • Review and assist with updating risk assessments, COSHH assessments and operational procedures.
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with company written procedures and industry legislation.
  • Carry out regular site inspections conducting daily, weekly, and monthly checks as required. Keep records of inspection findings, close out actions, and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  • Report incidents, and observations on the company Oshens system, assisting with investigations and remedial actions as required.
  • Complete Permits to Work for external contractors and out of scope work conducted by inhouse engineers, ensuring Risk & Method statements (RAMS) are robust and suitable.
  • Supporting the management of the training matrix, ensuring that training for all FMG colleagues is up to date and recorded. Liaise with other departments to highlight upcoming training requirements i.e. refresher or new starter training.
  • Lead toolbox talk training, liaising with managers to arrange suitable times to conduct talks to employees regarding Health & Safety and associated issues and risks.
  • Assist with onsite plant inspections/repairs bookings.
  • Assist with facilities tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with H&S and associated projects as directed.
  • Be flexible to travel nationally as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills, experiences, and qualifications:

  • Good written and oral skills
  • Good IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Wellarticulated, with excellent verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise and act on own initiative
  • Able to work to deadlines and have a flexible approach
  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and contractors
  • Previous experience in a similar and/or comparable role
  • Risk/COSHH assessment experience
