Description

The Support and Delivery Centre's role is to facilitate the implementation of Welsh Government policies by providing centralised support functions and services for the Health and Social Care Research Community in Wales.

This includes implementing R&D funding policies, performance monitoring NHS R&D and managing the directory of research being undertaken across Wales.

The Support & Delivery Centre also hosts the approvals and contracts services for Wales and facilitates initiatives to increase commercial, primary care and social care research.

It also provides training and information services, as well as a communications service and supports public involvement and engagement in research in Wales.


The post-holder will be part of a wider team, which will ensure that appropriate reviews have been completed and recorded in line with agreed processes in order to inform decisions of sites on the viability of the study locally.


This role will require collaborative working with a range of stakeholders, internal and external, though primarily with staff from Approvals Operations and current and prospective REC members.

This will require the post-holder to work under their own initiative under general oversight and direction from the line manager, and display a high level of tact, diplomacy and emotional intelligence.

TheHealth and Care Research WalesSupport & Delivery Centre is hosted by Powys Teaching Health Board which is one of Wales's seven health boards, and funded by Welsh Government.

Our headquarters is in Cardiff but we have offices across Wales.

The post holder will have a base in one of the Cardiff, Brecon or Bangor offices (confirmed on recruitment) but will also be able to work from home.
