At Norwood Grange Care Home we recognise the importance of providing a safe environment for our residents, staff and visitors and to this end we are now recruiting a maintenance person with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to undertake training in all aspects of Health and Safety.

The successful applicant will also be required take on the responsibility of monitoring and auditing Health & Safety, general maintenance and repairs within the Home to ensure compliance with Legislation, Regulation and Best Practice as required by the Regulator and other external agencies.

Key Tasks will include but is not limited to:

Assisting in fire drills, weekly fire checks and routine fire equipment servicing checks.
PAT testing.
Ensuring efficient running of equipment and utilities.
Completing maintenance records.
Safe Handling of equipment and any hazardous substances.
Identifying and organising routine decorating and upgrades within the Home.
Carrying out Electrical, Plumbing and Joinery work as appropriate.
Painting and decorating.

Essential:

Good organisational skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to use own initiative.
Ability to work independently and work well within a team.
Be Enthusiastic, Motivated and able to demonstrate a keen interest in undertaking training in all aspects of Health and Safety.
An enhanced DBS disclosure.
Provide excellent references.
Demonstrate ability of working to a high standard in areas of maintenance and decorating.
