Description

West of England Hearing Implant Programme, based at St Michaels Hospital, Bristol are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, experienced and dedicatedBand 4 Senior Clinic Coordinator.


We are a regional specialist service caring for severely hearing impaired adults and children across the South West of England.

We are looking for a Senior Clinic Coordinator to provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective administrative service for the regional West of England Hearing Implant Programme (WEHIP), specifically with the Consultants, Audiologists and Rehabilitation staff.

To liaise with patients and professionals, including regional hospitals, healthcare professionals & PCTs around the South West.


To be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the office including managing waiting lists, clinics and appointment systems and to be available to support all members of the team.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills and will be expected to have a courteous and efficient telephone manner. Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • To act as a point of contact for queries from clinical and nonclinical staff
  • To accurately and efficiently manage clinic and waiting lists.
  • To act as a point of contact for patients, relatives and carers. The post holder should be polite and empathetic to the patient's needs at all times and be able to communicate effectively when dealing with difficult situations/conversations
  • Returning calls promptly and keeping callers updated with information in an effective and efficient way
  • Escalate patient queries, capacity problems and general issues to the role's line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate
  • Checking and sorting investigation reports and passing information on to clinical team as required
  • Ensure the dispatch and production of all clinical correspondence is maintained by proactively monitoring the digital dictation and speech recognition system, and to escalate where delays are identified
  • Provide monthly key information to the Line Manager and discuss with the team any appropriate actions that need to be taken
