A privately ran Building Services contractor that installs and designs Electrical and Mechanical services across a variety of commercial and industrial sectors are looking for an Mechanical Estimator.
Duties and Responsibilities of an Mechanical Estimator:
- Organise received tender documentation, thoroughly read and understand specification, schedules, drawings, and related documents.
- Identifies any issues or concerns and utilises RFI process to gain better understanding of the ask.
- Compile accurate take off from the drawings, either by hand or with our Bluebeam software. Pull together subcontractor packages and go out to supply chain for quotations.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analysing returned information. Engages directly with Client, Team or Subcontractor as necessary.
- Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
- Support the business in anyway necessary as appropriate when requested by Directors or Management.
Requirements of an Mechanical Estimator:
- Excellent interpersonal and customerfacing skills;
- Good administration & timekeeping
- Logical, practical approach
- Have good oral and written communication skills;
- Enjoy a fast paced, busy environment
- Be able to analyse and solve problems/challenges
- Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail and take pride in your output.
- Be able to use databases, spreadsheets, word processing and excel.
- Excellent numeracy skills
The successful Mechanical Estimator will be rewarded with:
