We are looking to recruit an exceptional individual to join our Urology team to take on the role of Cancer Care Co-ordinator for prostate cancer for the fixed term period of 7 months.

You will work as a member of the Urology Cancer nursing team providing patient coordination and care, for Urology patients.

You will work with the Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) to provide coordination of high quality patient care through on-going telephonic/ face to face assessment and proactive identification of needs utilising basic clinical knowledge, approved tools and procedures.

support the Urology Cancer CNS team (6 nurses) in delivering a high standard support to patients with cancer.

This will involve being in daily contact with patients suffering from a range of cancers, but predominantly prostate and bladder patients.

The post holder will be expected to support and signpost patients over the telephone, and progress their care pathway in liaison with other colleagues and departments in the hospital.

The post holder will also be expected to be involved with audit and Peer Review processes.


We have received time limited funding for this post from the Cancer Alliance as part of the national cancer strategy to implement the rapid prostate diagnostic pathway and appropriate risk stratified follow up pathways for patients requiring long-term follow up management after initial cancer treatment.

We will provide the necessary support to ensure your development within this role.
