We have an incredible opportunity here at Phoenix Group to join our Actuarial and Capital Management team as a Senior Capital Management Actuary.

The role


As a Senior Capital Management Actuary you will play a leading role within our Capital and Liquidity Risk team, providing leadership on technical and business matters as we evolve our balance sheet risk management frameworks and processes to keep pace with the growing scale and complexity of Phoenix.


Reporting to the Head of Capital and Liquidity Risk, this role will lead the development and running of our Capital Management and Liquidity and Funding Policies alongside other senior leaders within the team.

You will get involved in areas such as balance sheet resilience planning through stress and scenario testing and the development of recovery actions, continuous enhancement of our capital and liquidity management frameworks and calibration of various capital and liquidity risk appetite limits appropriate for the Group's growth ambitions.

- appropriate levels of balance sheet resilience is maintained and monitored,
- risks are well understood, documented and controlled and
- business units within the Group have clear limits to work within in order to execute the Group's strategic priorities.


What are we looking for?

  • Ability to use of a variety of diagnostic techniques to understand a situation/issue/problem by breaking it down and tracing the root cause/underlying implications in a methodical stepbystep way.
  • Clearly and effectively offer information, ideas, plans, requests and opinions to internal and external stakeholders through a range of channels including written and oral. Ensure alignment with communication guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to generate and implement creative solutions and novel ways to achieve goals.
