ROLE MISSION
Working in partnership with our client, the Design Lead will be taking design projects from brief to completion for our client and all of their brands

  • You're able to lead, not just be led, and enjoy taking ownership and responsibility for projects.
  • You need to be a team player that would enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience.
  • You will take the lead in the concept development of visual design and the development of creative projects, ensuring consistency with the overall brand and marketing strategy, and representing bestinclass execution whilst still being very hands on.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE


You will work on a variety of different projects ranging from presentation design, digital and social advertising, brand development, key visual mock ups and a range of responsive web projects.

As we foster a close working relationships with our clients, you must be comfortable presenting and taking client feedback directly.

Building client trust is key to producing better work.

Leadership

  • To provide leadership and expertise to the design team
  • Mentor, develop and/or line manage other copywriters who are less senior
  • Work with Account Managers to help decide on best talent for a brief
  • Brand guardianship on key accounts
  • Presenting your work internally and to clients
Design

  • Developing an expert understanding of the brand guidelines and brand templates
  • Ensuring consistency and adherence to guidelines across all deliverables
  • Following existing styles and templates to create accurate, onbrand design
  • Conducting searches to identify onbrand imagery/footage to add to the brand's existing asset bank
  • Brainstorming and conceptualizing on seasonal, topical and celebratory campaigns and creatives
  • Incorporating frequent selfinitiated quality checks into your standard workflow and maintaining high standards of quality in all deliverables
  • Maintaining best practices with filekeeping and file setup
  • Taking and investigating briefs from Project Managers, working closely with internal and external Creative Directors and collaborating with the wider creative team to ensure onbrief delivery
  • Putting in place effective creative workflows to train, guide and inspire the wider creative team
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure standards of quality are being met across the team
  • Maintaining timesheets accurately and on time
  • Staying abreast of design trends and sharing with colleagues
  • Identifying opportunities to add creativity within the boundaries of the brand world and templates
  • Managing workloads within agreed timings
  • Gauging feasibility of proposed timings and negotiating reasonable and acceptable revisions if required

WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Strong design thinking for print, web, digital, social content, and advertising
  • A deep affinity for layout, typography, and ideasgeneration
  • A basic understanding of After Effects and Adobe XD is a bonus
  • A stickler for layout & typography rules and best practices
  • A champion of grids and guides
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Great communication skills and the ability to cogently articulate creative rationale as well as an opinion
  • Ability to pitch creative solutions in response to marketing strategies
  • Excellent experience working closely with clients during kickoff
  • Strong conceptual design thinking for digital and social design projects
  • A team player who possesses the ability to build strong and effective working relationships
  • To be proactive and solutionsfocused — this is a must
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong design thinking and quality execution is mandatory
  • Experience on global FMCG brands. /Update with relevant info—eg. financial services brands, beauty brands etc.
  • Multimarket experience
Visual Arts BS/BA degree is a plus Applicant must know:

  • A good working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and jquery capabilities is a bonus; as is a basic understanding of After Effects and Adobe XD
  • Not essential but definitely an advantage.
