About us

Art Academy East Ltd and Norwich Pottery Studio is an adult art college working in partnership with College of West Anglia. We offer University of the Arts London accredited Art & Design Diplomas as well as leisure courses and are based in Sprowston, Norwich. We have large, light and warm studios within a shared building with free onsite parking.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented and creative educator to work with enthusiastic and committed staff and learners.

We offer art and pottery courses to adult learners in an inclusive and supportive environment.

We are looking for experienced Workshop Tutors/ Demonstrators with exceptionally good organisation skills and the ability/experience to run exciting stand alone workshops and courses in the day or evening. The successful applicants will be enthusiastic and skilled teachers of art who are confident in using a range of media across different disciplines, along with a good understanding of contextual art, art history and current movements. They will have the ability to inspire those around them and grow confidence in those who may not have been in education for some years.

We are looking for a range of practitioners who are confident in the demonstration of painting and drawing, pottery and ceramics, printmaking or other creative skills.

As part of a small team the applicants would be required to take part in all necessary activities to facilitate an exceptional learning environment including setting up and clearing down the teaching area.

A track record of success and achievement of learners must be shown.

Excellent organisation and administration skills are required. Applicants must be competent using IT and confident to lead activities to groups of at least 20 people including demonstrating their particular craft.

The applicants must have excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.

This role requires the applicants to support adult learners of all abilities showing empathy, patience and understanding.

This is a part-time role and will vary dependent on the workshop program. It is anticipated that it will develop into further hours and more opportunity moving forward.

Any successful applicant will be required to undergo a full DRB Disclosure and undertake up to date Safeguarding and PREVENT training.
