Context:
Dawn to the Light is a gaming project led by Ahtasham, Aaliyah and Demereece. The project was initially founded as part of The Agency and, a games trailer was created. The team have since been awarded £20,000 from the Ardonagh Trust to create a playable games demo.


Since March, they have been working with a Games Producer who has been instrumental in guiding the next steps of this process.

Over the coming months, the Dawn to the Light team will be engaging in a series of workshops and development meetings to create their demo.

The final game will be launched at an event at Contact on Saturday 9 September.


This Role:
The Producer role is crucial to ensure the smooth running of the project. You will be responsible for supporting the team to deliver their objectives, providing pastoral care and developmental opportunities.


You will provide support to freelance creatives working on the project including - the Games Producer, workshop leads and later - the Designer and Developer.

Leading on contracts, induction information and ensuring they have everything they need to complete their roles effectively.

You will be the key contact for internal and external enquiries. Identifying further opportunities for development and local connections.


Location:
This role will take place remotely and at Contact. You will need to be present for all workshops, some meetings and the delivery of the final event. Workshops and meetings often take place in evenings.


Key duties:


The team

  • Be the key contact for Dawn to the Light. Checking in on actions, arranging meetings and providing pastoral care where needed;
  • Provide developmental support to Dawn to the Light. Supporting them to achieve their individual development objectives;
  • Act as key contact for all freelance creatives on the project. Ensuring they have all the information needed to complete their work;
  • Work closely with the Games Producer to ensure smooth project delivery.

Planning

  • Lead on arranging workshops and project meetings;
  • Booking space, completing risk assessments and taking notes where necessary;
  • Support with budget planning and provide suggestions where needed;
  • Manage the budget and arrange payments on behalf of Contact;
  • Produce contracts and ensure that all freelancers have completed Right to Work checks and Finance forms;
  • Research options for a mental health charity to link with the project. Introduce this strand to the project delivery, seeking their guidance on safety and care on shaping the demo;
  • Seek opportunities to connect DTTL with The Agency and other programmes at Contact and locally;
  • To act as key contact for funders Ardonagh Trust and ensure they are kept informed of project developments.

Marketing

  • Work with Contact's marketing team to implement the strategy;
  • Lock in key dates for strategy with the Dawn to the Light team;
  • Identify opportunities for further engagement;
  • Lead on guest list and invitations for final event.

Event

  • To support DTTL with the shaping of the final event;
  • To book speakers and arrange materials where necessary;
  • To be key contact for Contact's team, arranging tech, room set up and ensuring that the teams have all the information they need;

Evaluation

  • To lead on a final evaluation of the project in September 2023

Fee
- £175 per full day (up to 8 hours)
- £100 per half day (up to 4 hours)
