Description

We are one of the UK's leading providers of Health & Safety, HR and Employment Law covering a wide range of industry sectors, and with continued growth year on year we now have a vacancy in our Health and Safety department for an Advisor who will be based from the South Wales office.


You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced in Health & Safety and your role will entail visiting client sites and providing advice and guidance to support the development of their health and safety management system including carrying out health and safety health checks, safety inspections, assistance in the compilation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.


Day-to-day responsibilities will include:


  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times (including appearance, use of PPE, communication)
  • Assist clients with the development of a H&S management system (e.g policies, risk assessments, and safe systems of work, etc)
  • Conducting site inspections/health checks (including construction sites) and providing detailed reports of findings with recommendations for the client to implement
  • Conducting Fire Risk Assessments
  • Managing a designated client base, and recurring appointments
  • Provide H&S training to clients (manual handling, fire awareness, general H&S)
  • Assisting clients with all aspects of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ's), H&S accreditation schemes (CHAS, Safe Contractors, SMAS, etc)
  • Assist with accident investigations/RIDDOR requirements
  • Assist the client when dealing with enforcement agencies. (HSE, Local Authority, etc)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good experience in the industry
  • Excellent knowledge of H&S legislation
  • Tech IOSH with evidence of CPD
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate or FPA Fire Risk Assessment training desirable (Level 3)
  • NEBOSH Construction certificate desirable
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards
  • Experience of auditing of systems
  • Full clean driving license and own vehicle
  • Willingness to travel to other UK locations, with possibility of the occasional night away
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills at all levels of business
