The Role

As a People Partner at Avove you will have the opportunity to partner and support with a variety of areas within the business, supporting our growth plans and shaping the future of the business.

This is an exciting opporuntity to use

your HR expertise to deliver practical solutions to the business challenges and provide generalist advice and recommendations across multiple HR areas.

You will work with the accounts to build organisation and people capability to improve business performance.

Identify key business needs and trends to shape and implement effective resource & succession plans, ensuring proactive solutions are identified in relation to skills gaps, talent attraction and retention.

This role will work closely with the wider People & Culture team to deliver and embed fit for purpose processes & initiatives that support the business to meet its objectives.

This is a full time permanent role and will be of hybrid nature working from home and our office in Durham along with occasional office visits in Scotland and Birmingham.


Responsibilities:


  • You will be curious about the accounts you support and have detailed knowledge of the operational service that we provide to our clients to enable you to develop solutions for all colleaguerelated challenges.
  • Lead the improvement of people capability, you will act as a trusted adviser and coach people managers to manage people issues successfully, incorporating best practices and mitigating any potential risk to the business.
  • Develop proactive & effective resource plans to establish what skills the accounts need today and in the future. Ensure solutions are in place to identify skill gaps, talent attraction and resource mix required. Coach people managers throughout the hiring process to ensure we attract and retain the right skills into Avove.
  • Work with the accounts and the L&D Partner to assess the skills, knowledge, and capability of our workforce today, identifying what we need in the future and building effective learning and development demand plans that support the growth of our colleagues.
  • Use succession planning tools to identify the talent in your accounts and potential successors and ensure robust development plans are in place.
  • Retention is the new recruitment, develop and drive the delivery of colleague engagement plans to identify ways to ensure Avove is a great place to work and reduces attrition on the account.
  • Produces key colleague performance metrics, identifies trends, provides insight based on data and takes actions to support the business to improve performance.
  • Provide feedback and contribute to the development of relevant HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Supports strategic business projects and change programmes.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team.
Experience

  • Ability to make sound judgments based on business and commercial needs, ensuring the business operates within the boundaries of employment law.
  • Experience in a business partnering role is essential
  • Adapts positively to changing work priorities and patterns, ensuring key business and people deadlines continue to be met. Ability to work in an agile environment, autonomously and to pace.
  • Displays tenacity and proactivity in the way they go about their role, dealing positively with setbacks when they occur. Stays positive when under pressure.
  • Builds effective working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues across all levels of the business.
