Position:
Research Assistant


Location:
Fully Remote (UK-based, but working with US clients)


Working Hours:
Monday-Friday,
Essential Hours: 6pm-10pm (total of 37.5h per week; additional hours may be available at the same rate of pay)


Accio Biobank Online, a dynamic player in the realm of medical research, is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team in the role of Research Assistant, with the opportunity for the right person to advance within the company in the future, depending on aptitude and business needs.

As a crucial provider of human specimens for medical research, we facilitate the vitalal connection between researchers and the specimens they need to advance treatments, diagnostics, and medical devices.


About Us:

Accio Biobank Online collaborates with hospitals and biomedical specimen providers, primarily in the US, to source the most relevant human specimens for our clients.

Our commitment to advancing medical research is driven by the belief in the power of in vitro research over animal-based models.


Responsibilities:
supporting our Research Manager, Research Officer, Systems Manager and CEO as they conduct the following activities
:


  • Client Engagement: Interacting with clients from pharma, biotech, medical devices, and academia, searching through Excel inventories, asking clients and hospitals questions under the guidance of more senior staff in order to conduct a feasibility study.
  • Supporting more senior staff on teleconferences by assisting with meticulous note taking and answering questions regarding inventories or particular projects you have been assisting with.

Technical Expertise: Demonstrate experience in working with human specimens in vitro, with a focus on pathology terms, cancer staging, and a willingness to learn about various types of specimens and data.

Team Collaboration: Especially as a fully remote position, a willingness to work closely with, and communicate frequently and clearly with, other team members is essential.


Qualifications:


  • BSc in a relevant field, with a minimum of 1 year's in vitro work experience desirable. Applicants with equivalent technical qualifications and experience may also be considered.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Interest or experience in oncology, and familiarity with other disease areas.
  • Experience in biobank, pathology, or hospital laboratory settings is advantageous.
  • Remote work experience and customer service skills.
