In your role as a Care Home Driver, you will undertake transport duties for the Home as directed by the Home Lead and Registered Managers at both Georgian House and Meadfoot View, to provide transportation within the community that is safe, flexible, comfortable, and well planned depending on the needs of Residents and fellow colleagues.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities


Duties will be delegated to you by the Home Lead, Care Co-ordinator /Senior Care/Support Team/Registered Managers as per the published rota and will include.


  • Driving residents to doctors, dentists and hospital appointments.
  • Driving and assisting residents to excursions and tours accompanied by a Support/Care worker.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Your Driver responsibilities will see you transporting residents, staff, and guests in company vehicles as and when they need to go somewhere.
  • Maintain good health and hygiene standards.
  • Empty all rubbish from the vehicles and place in the appropriate bins and recycling bins in the car park.
  • Collecting and delivering items of equipment to and from the Homes as required.
  • You will take pride in the upkeep of the Company vehicles, ensuring they are clean, fully serviced, and roadworthy. Carrying out scheduled checks, ensuring all documentation is in order and that vehicles are cleaned and have an adequate supply of fuel or fully charged
  • Reporting any vehicle defects and investigating and documenting the findings as required
  • Completing journey logs after each use and monitoring Tax and MOT expiry dates as required.
  • Ensuring vehicles are locked and that alarms are activated when parking
  • Utilise your time when not driving to assist with the upkeep of the Car Park and grounds ensuring it is always clean and tidy and clear of rubbish.
