Freelance Media Planning Manager - London/Hybrid - £300 a-day
If you're a Freelance Media Planning Manager on the hunt for something new and exciting, I have just the role for you.
As Freelance Media Planning Manager, you'll ultimately be responsible for acting as the go-to planner for all upper/middle funnel channels and work hand-in-hand with a Performance Planner to ensure the eCommerce and performance elements of the plan are connected to the upper funnel activity.
This Freelance Media Planning Manager will also own the day-to-day management of your brands' media plans and their proper implementation, working to fulfil agreed media objectives in the context of changing market conditions.
The responsibilities of this Freelance Media Planning Manager include:
- Lead the media planning on campaigns across your brand portfolio, liaising closely with performance planners on larger/ multi channel projects.
- Liaise with and manage multiple stakeholders both client and agency side. Build and maintain strong relationships with them.
- Use appropriate data (either from planning tools, industry research or clients' data) to design and support your planning recommendations.
- Determine the best media mix for your campaigns allocating budget appropriately between channels based on data insights and previous learnings.
- Create clear briefs for the activation teams and run collaborative sessions to deliver these.
- Evaluate responses from the activation teams and work with them to finalise channel and publisher selections and budgets ensuring we meet the brief.
- Own the overall plan (as shared with clients), being the goto person for campaign status and delivery, and the key point of contact for clients.
- Cocreate, maintain and lead the implementation of testing plans and supporting material.
- Support Account Executives / Senior Account Executives in ensuring account hygiene (i.e. Finance).
- Collate and quality assure PCA's, develop insights and recommendations to share with client.
- Meet regularly with vendors and have a relevant point of view on their offering and how it is developing.
As Freelance Media Planning Manager, you'll also have the following;
- A strong communicator who is confident and comfortable in front of clients and other stakeholders.
- Experienced in and with an aptitude for managing projects, clients, vendors and agency stakeholders.
- Experience planning and optimizing across brand and performance digital media channels.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and multitask:
- Critical thinking / problem solving skills: you must be able to analyse data or a situation, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations.
- Ability to forecast expected outcomes of campaigns and manage spend accordingly.
- Excellent spreadsheet capability is a must (formulas e.g. vlookup, sumifs, pivot tables).
- Superior presentation skills, in slides or document format.
- Understanding of industry standard media research tools (e.g. Comscore, GWI, TGI, YouGov).
