Who are we?:

Retail Assist are an award-winning technology company who provide IT Managed Services to high end Retailers and Hospitality with household name partners such as Ted Baker, Pizza Hut, Vue Cinemas and many more We started life out in 1999 supporting Adams Childrenswear and have grown to a 64 strong IT Service Desk supporting 38 clients with many more to come


The Role:


This will be a permanent position on a 4 on 4 off basis; you will be doing 12 hour shifts with 1 hour break.


To start with you will be required to do 3-6 months on site, shadowing a member of the Operations team, so you can learn the ropes of what Operations do.


The role involves the monitoring of clients Servers, Networks, Backup and Applications to ensure that there are no issues and that any problems that are identified are managed in line with departmental processes.


The team utilise various tools such as Halcyon, What's Up Gold, SolarWinds, Control M and BMC patrol as well as logging into various servers to perform proactive checks.

Checks are managed utilising Task Supervisor to ensure we keep on top of all the regular tasks.


The role will also require that once you are confident, that you liaise with the other support teams within RA, 3rd parties and the clients own support teams.

You will also be responsible for raising detailed support tickets within Jira, the production of daily reports and shift handover documents.

  • Logging into various systems
  • Using various monitoring tools and responding to alerts
  • Performing checks using online tools
  • Call Logging and the management of calls
  • Performing tape movements
  • Escalation of issues to internal teams, 3rd parties as well as client teams
  • Backups
  • Making sure the Over Night completes
  • Checking the progression of schedules
  • Checking sales file have been processed
  • Raising calls and following the escalation process
  • Hourly Checks
  • Monitoring WUG
