**Position:

  • London**The Central Government team at Venn Group are urgently seeking an experienced Technical & Capital Accountant. This role is to deliver capital financial planning, monitoring, support and advice as well as treasury management responsibilities

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and develop effective communications within the Team and between the Team members, the Branch and its clients.
  • Prepare end of year and quarterly Government and CIPFA revenue and capital returns
  • Represent Finance at various meetings, preparing relevant financial information to inform decision making, providing financial advice and supporting projects and new initiatives
  • Provide advice and guidance on Value Added Tax, the Brigade's Accounting Systems, and the Construction Industry Tax Deduction Scheme.
  • Ensure all statutory taxation, accounting, and Government return deadlines are met

Essential Requirements:


  • Experience with Capital Accounting and Treasury Management
  • Experience with Financial Instruments and tackling the accompanying audit queries
  • Proven experience and technical expertise in preparation of final accounts and ownership of working papers and Statement of Accounts notes for PPE, Financial instruments and tackling the accompanying audit queries
  • A recognised CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification/ finalist or part qualified with relevant experience
