Cordius are working with a family run subcontract engineering business based in Chesterfield.

They are looking to increase their workforce due to an increase in orders and are looking for two experienced CNC Turner Setter/Operators to join their team onday or night shifts.


The role:


The post holder will set and operate CNC machinery to manufacture product against engineering drawing requirements ensuring that all products conform and adhere to customers' expectations.


The post holder will further ensure that the shop floor Controls are maintained including targets of Monitor and Measuring Equipment procedure is always maintained.


Salary:

£ £19.00 per hour depending on experience and shift choice


Working Pattern:

Days and Nights available.

Days - Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 17:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 13:00pm

Nights - Monday to Wednesday - 17:30pm - 6:00am and Thursday 17:30pm - 3:00am.


Duties:


  • The role will involve setting and operating CNC turning machines using FANUC controls
  • Work closely with operators and Inspectors on the standardisation of inspection methods
  • You will be working within a manufacturing environment working to production targets whilst checking for defects and quality issues.
  • Maintain required shop floor controls & Measuring Equipment
  • Maintain a safe working environment on the shop floor and highlight to direct manager any improvements.
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce the company's commitment to quality improvement efforts
  • Ensure the H&S legal requirements, policies and procedures are complied with at all time
  • To work within the ISO9001 quality management system and to conform to the customer specific requirements

Requirements:


  • Experienced Setter/Operator
  • Previous experience working on either milling or turning machines
  • Good knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Competent working with a range of material including Stainless Steels, Inconel, and other alloys
  • Experience working in a precision environment
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Ability to think logically and methodically
  • Ability to work independently and proactively

Qualifications:


  • NVQ level 3 in Engineering and/or equivalent or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • GCSE A-D in English, Math's or equivalent
