Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Buyer. This role will be responsible for placing purchase orders and managing material flow for the business.

Key Responsibilities of theBuyer;

Daily management of global supplier and subcontractor portfolio.
Demand and forecast control, including challenging internal MRP demand.
Review weekly/monthly/quarterly delivery schedule and forecast with suppliers.
Monitor and manage delivery forecasts through regular interaction with suppliers.
Manage operational risks and issues.
Arrange shipping with 3PL providers.
Drive the reverse logistics flows (quotes, return parts, followed removals).
Manage & optimise airfreight cost.
Maintain and optimise the ordering parameters and buyers master data.
Support optimisation of inventory parameters (Safety stock, reorder point).
Monitor and improve key Supplier relationships.
Monitor Supply Chain's performance.
Measure Supply Chain KPIs.
Support NPI for Supplier selection by providing data and supplier knowledge.

Personal Specification of theBuyer;

Degree and / or CIPS qualification would be preferred.
Proven Purchasing experience.
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills.

Intermediate

Advanced Excel skills.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement including Buyer, Purchasing Controller, Commodity Manager, Sourcing Manager, Supplier Coordinator.
