3 days per week (3 Month fixed term contract)

Due to a team re structure within Wheatfield's Hospice we are delighted to be looking to recruit a new Community Fundraising Officer to join the team in our Leeds hospice.


Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice is located in Headingley, Leeds and provides expert palliative care and support for people who are living with a life-limiting condition, as well as supporting their families.

Our inpatient hospice provides round-the-clock assessment and specialist care to help manage patients' symptoms.

Our day service helps people living with long term conditions to avoid unnecessary trips to hospital, as well as offering social opportunities alongside others experiencing similar circumstances.


About the role:


This role plays a key part to supporting and assisting the fundraising team to deliver income and to assist the growth of fundraising income.


  • You will assist to raise targeted income annually
  • Establish and grow fundraising in all areas: including community, supporter led, in memory, legacies, partnerships
  • Work within income and expenditure budgets in all activity to ensure best return on investment

About you:

  • Experience of working in a customer care environment
  • A proven ability to develop relationships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Ability to engender a proactive team culture
  • IT literacy essential
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at different levels
  • Ability to put the supporter at the centre of everything we do and adapt behaviour or communications appropriately to provide the best experience for the supporter
  • Ability to work from own initiative & independently with an adaptable & flexible approach
  • Collaborative team player who is willing to share knowledge and learning openly to create understanding and support
  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise to deliver results within agreed timescales
