This role is a Full Time, Permanent role working 36.25 hours per week.

The individual will continue to develop and manage the Group's risk management framework and systems, including leading, advising and supporting the board and executives in managing the groups highest level risks and maintaining the Group's risk strategy and risk appetite.


They will also continue to develop and manage the Group's business continuity arrangements, support major incidents and ensure that the appropriate tools are in place and that all stakeholders are aware of their obligations relating to business continuity management.


WHAT WILL THE RIGHT PERSON LOOK LIKE?


We are seeking a risk management professional, who has experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders and can drive continuous improvement across the Group's risk management and business continuity frameworks.

The individual will bring best practice and proven technical expertise, as well as hands on experience in a similar role.

Whilst previous experience of working directly within the social housing sector is not a necessity, it would be advantageous. A clear understanding of the operating environment and the risks the sector faces is a must.


WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
This role has a number of core objectives including:


Ensure the Group's risk management framework is up to date, fit for purpose and in line with best practice by maintaining and continually improving the Risk Management Strategy, Policy and frameworks, and leading the annual review of the Risk Appetite Statement.


  • Lead the quarterly review and reporting of strategic risks, ensuring Board are fully equipped to identify, capture and manage those risks, and that a horizon scanning framework is embedded at both operational and strategic levels.
  • Proactively work with staff across the Group and external partners to ensure the identification and management of risk is embedded throughout all operational processes and areas, inputting into risk assessments as required.
  • Proactively work with staff, nonexecutive directors and the internal audit team to assess and record assurance against risk mitigations/controls using the three lines of defence framework.
  • Delivery of risk identification workshops and other risk management training/communications for colleagues and board members to ensure a consistent approach is maintained.
  • Ensure comprehensive business continuity plans, processes and procedures are in place, which are fit for purpose and in line with legal, regulatory and other requirements.
  • Continue to develop the Senior Team preparation and readiness for a major incident, including leading regular business continuity plan/scenario testing exercises.
  • Provide advice in invoking the Business Continuity Plan and take a lead role in supporting the Incident Management Team (Senior Team) in the event of an incident and coordinating the role of the Business Response/Recovery Team.
