Vivienne Westwood is currently recruiting for a Junior Accessories Designer to join the our design team based in heart of Battersea.

Design bags, small leather goods and accessories for Vivienne Westwood following the design brief and brand profile. These include Men's, Women's and Unisex products, focussing on 'Special Projects' and SLG's.


Responsibilities:


  • Work on developing sketches by hand, and Illustrator.
  • Propose detailing of material combinations, colouring and styling of all styles in Photoshop.
  • Keeping up to date with accessories and fashion market from season to season.
  • Responsible for technical drawings, 3D mockups, detailed specs and comments.
  • Communicating with PD Team to pass designs, comments and updates.
  • Working alongside Merchandising to produce range plans.
  • Attending design meetings and presenting work to Head of Design.
  • Communicating the collection to the business through presentations, moodboards and visuals and the Collection Structure.
  • Potential travel to Italy for development trips, leather and fabric fairs.
  • Collection range planning and liaising with Shoes, Acc and RTW to ensure artwork cohesion, collection development, timing and process alignment.
  • Make sure design procedures are followed, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Keep an organised filing system so that all materials, drawings and photographs for the season and are easily accessible.

Knowledge and Experience:


  • 2+ years experience in accessories design related role
  • Have a fashion and design related degree
  • Expert in Adobe Suite with experience in graphic design, technical placements
  • Ability to closely follow instructions and to work independently, taking initiative
  • Proven technical experience in designing accessories.
  • Must have commercial awareness, keeping up to date with fashion and trends.
  • Enjoys working in a team collaboratively and also independently.
  • Ability to work with accuracy and prioritise tasks within strict deadlines
  • The job is extremely varied and we work on several special projects and collaborations, so it is important that be designer be adaptable, flexible, resourceful and astute.
