Description

The post holder will need to communicate and collaborate with the specialist blood transfusion practitioners, blood transfusion laboratory staff and laboratory manager regarding safe blood transfusion practice.

Communicating sensitively following transfusion related incidents, in a manner that will not offend or antagonise.

To utilise problem solving skills to support identification and resolutions of blood transfusion related events, using trust RADAR and pathology QPULSE systems.

Daily data entry of blood transfusion traceability tags and producing relevant blood component reports.

Collecting the traceability tags from each ward daily and enter on to LIMS.

Using the monthly traceability search list check for any missing tags by searching eCare patients notes and search for evidence of transfusion.

To provide administrative support to the Transfusion Practitioner Team, effectively maintaining transfusion training schedules, arranging venues and resolve conflicting appointments.

Minute taking at HTT and HTC meetings and other meetings as necessary.
