Due to some exciting developments within the School including two newly developed innovative MSc programmes, we are seeking to recruit an experienced professionally registered cancer nurse or allied health professional who can demonstrate a commitment to enhancing patient care through excellent education.

  • Be responsible for high quality teaching and the facilitation of student learning, using an innovative and reflective approach to education

This includes:

  • Designing and delivering specific teaching sessions and study days both in the classroom and through elearning using a range of appropriate teaching strategies to suit the level of learners, the setting, and the topic, including technologyenhanced and experiential learning, onetoone coaching, large and small group teaching, seminars, and simulation of clinical situations.
  • Participating in the development of teaching in the School, sharing and reflecting on ideas and experiences; mentoring colleagues; evaluating teaching activity and outcomes.
  • Participating in Peer Review of teaching, receiving, and giving supportive feedback and advice to help sustain and enhance the quality of teaching in the School.
  • Being involved in the evaluation of teaching and learning activities, ensuring that education and practice are linked.
  • If qualified, provide academic leadership and support to course / curriculum development and delivery.
  • Being an academic supervisor of students undertaking practice projects / dissertations (at academic level(s) appropriate to the post holder's qualification.
  • Marking of assignments, dissertations, and other forms of assessments in a timely way and, if experienced, moderating assignments.
  • Contributing to developments and initiatives within the School such as academic planning, online innovation, and bespoke project work.
  • Participating in and/or leading on the School quality assurance processes
  • Assisting the Director of School/Senior Management Team with any academically related work as required.
