Operations Supervisor - Wembley
The purpose of the Operations Supervisor role is to manage and direct the movement of trains within Wembley Maintenance Depot in line with the Railtrack Rule Book and appendices, to allow the safe movement of any rail vehicles within the Site limits, and ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation is strictly adhered to, with respect to train movement activities within the Site confines.
This role would require you to co-operate fully with the relevant Site procedures and instructions as discharged through the Depot Supervisor.
The role also requires monitoring the security of the depot as well as allowing entry and exit to the depot from walking and road routes, liaise with British Transport Police and other departments over day-to-day security arrangements in the depot.
Safely co-ordinate the movement of vehicles as defined within the current Rules and Regulations issued and amended from time to time.
Acknowledge and work to the relevant Fleet Standards and Procedures, as issued in the form of Depot Maintenance Schedules, Maintenance and Technical Instructions, Job Cards and other instructions which are produced by the Technical Managers team.
To fully comply with measures and systems designed to increase productivity and the efficiency of the maintenance activity, as directed by the Production Manager.
To fully co-operate and encourage good housekeeping and Health and Safety activities within the Site.
To fully co-operate with the Railtrack Rule Book, Provisions and Documentation, in all matters.
Undertake other duties as requested by the company.
Experience of leading a team to provide direction
Has good written and verbal communicate skills
Able to plan and delegate activities to his/her team
Knowledge and understanding of control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) regulations and measures
Takes on new initiative or instructions without resistance
Flexible approach to working conditions and working changing working environment.
Experience of security surveillance
Able to arrive on time to work when no public transport is available
Able to attend a changing shift pattern
