Accounting Assistant

Reporting to:
Accounting Manager


Department:
Finance and Accounts


Contract Type:
Permanent


Salary:
£21,000 - £23,000 (depending on experience)


Hours: 37.5/ Monday-Friday - 9am - 5pm

Purpose of the job:
To assist the Accounting Manager in the in overall finance function.


Job Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide general accounting support to the Accounting Manager
  • Undertake all aspects of sales/purchase ledger administration
  • Input all business finance transactions into the company's software
  • Work with the Accounting Manger to bring bookkeeping data to trail balance level
  • Process monthly intercompany settlements
  • Gather information for VAT returns
  • Supporting the Accounting Manager with any administrational tasks when required

Person Specification

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Highly organised
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • High level of efficiency, accuracy and responsibility
  • Familiar with Sage 50 (desired)

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 12 months experience in an account/finance role
