Accounting Assistant
Reporting to:
Accounting Manager
Department:
Finance and Accounts
Contract Type:
Permanent
Salary:
£21,000 - £23,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5/ Monday-Friday - 9am - 5pm
Purpose of the job:
To assist the Accounting Manager in the in overall finance function.
Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide general accounting support to the Accounting Manager
- Undertake all aspects of sales/purchase ledger administration
- Input all business finance transactions into the company's software
- Work with the Accounting Manger to bring bookkeeping data to trail balance level
- Process monthly intercompany settlements
- Gather information for VAT returns
- Supporting the Accounting Manager with any administrational tasks when required
Person Specification
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Highly organised
- Great attention to detail
- Strong numeracy skills
- High level of efficiency, accuracy and responsibility
- Familiar with Sage 50 (desired)
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 12 months experience in an account/finance role
