Description

There is an immediate vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join my Clients engineering team.

The core part of the job will be, as part of the assembly process for equipment for sale, installing electrical components and electrical wiring in production equipment and maintaining the electrical integrity of the factory.

This work includes:

Examining and using electrical design drawings or specifications to find out job, material, and equipment requirements.
Carrying out hard wiring of machines (i.e., extrusion plant).
Securing cables & hardware parts from suppliers, preparing cabling, and making up wiring harnesses.
Making electrical connections to drive motors, godet rollers, heaters, barrels & die heads, temperature controls, PC. etc.
Numbering wiring for installations.
Checking accuracy and quality of electrical assemblies.
Carrying out all duties with guidance but without constant supervision.
Keeping all work areas in a clean, tidy, and safe manner.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential

A strong background in electrical engineering ideally with HNC / HND or equivalent.
Minimum 23 years employment experience in an industrial environment.
Understanding and following engineering specifications.

Desirable

Experience of assembling process lines, especially polymer extrusion and fibre forming processes.
Basic background knowledge of process instrumentation and control systems.
Experience of offsite equipment installation on customer's premises would be an advantage.
